A word about plastic

You will find some sites selling plastic glasses at what appears to be much better prices that us. BEWARE! You are probably being sold acrylic or polystyrene glasses. You will see a small range of Polystyrene glasses on this site in the Disposable section. This is because although, in theory, Polystyrene is resuable it is not really very tough and so it is best regarded as an alternative only where the safety of plastic over glass is not a requirement and where the glasses will be used only for a single function (i.e. a single party night). These glasses can be reused during a night but are not really washable, storable and reusable over an extended period.

SAN and Polycarbonate

The Alternative Glass Company's Breakresistant Drinkware is the ideal choice for sparkling clear, resilient glasses and pitchers at an affordable price. Our tough breakresistant drinkware is manufactured from SAN or Polycarbonate which gives it good strength and durability. Our drinkware is top shelf dishwasher safe. After many cycles through the dishwasher our drinkware will maintain its clarity. It is stain resistant and odour resistant as SAN and Polycarbonate actively prevents the build up of stains and odours. In addition, it has excellent insulation properties and will keep hot drinks hotter and cold drinks colder for longer. Ideal uses and situations for include:-
